XO Communications presented by Cisco Sytems
The XO Communications Cycling Team presented Cisco Systems is USA Cycling registered Domestic Elite Race Team based in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Comprised of eighteen of the region’s top men and women riders, XO Communications Racing has established a strong record of success since forming in 2006.
Eli Hengst and Tom Buzas, who form Racing’s management, share a common vision and passionate commitment to building and sustaining a mid-Atlantic cycling team committed to the highest level of competition, while providing a structured, positive environment for young riders seeking a professional cycling career.
“Much like a business start-up, teams like ours need partners committed to supporting us as we grow, and who understand the intangibles – a passion for teamwork, results, and community – that have been the foundation of our success. XO Communications shares this passion and understands what drives our team, and we look forward to taking it to the next level with their support in 2011,” says Team Director Eli Hengst.
The Domestic Elite team is composed of USA Cycling designated Category 1 racers – the top division of domestic cycling – and a level that qualifies the entire roster to race in Professional United States Cycling and International Cycling (UCI) Events.
The young team is dedicated to developing a generation of the mid-Atlantic’s best young riders and providing them with the opportunity to compete at the highest levels of domestic US racing and a pathway to professional cycling careers. In 2011, with XO Communication’s support, the team plans an expanded travel program that includes several high profile USA Cycling National Race Calendar (NRC) and USA Crit Series events.
XO Communications has long established partnerships with professional sports teams and is proud to join one of the nation’s top Elite Amateur cycling programs as the Title Sponsor in 2011.
“XO Communications is excited to bring our support to a dedicated group of elite amateur cyclists who represent the next wave of U.S. professionals,” said Mike Toplisek, chief marketing officer for Business Services at XO Communications. “We admire their relentless pursuit of excellence, and their commitment to continuous improvement that has made them an emerging force in U.S. cycling.”
